Product Description

Ingredients: Mix well before use Zinc Oxide, Caprlyic/Capric Triglyceride, Polyhydroxystearic Acid

INCI: Zinc Oxide, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride and Polyhydroxystearic Acid

Our Zinc & MCT Oil Dispersion is derived from natural sources and is known for its broad-spectrum sun protection properties, assisting in protecting your skin from both UVA and UVB rays. By dispersing it in MCT oil, our supplier created a lightweight and non-greasy formula that glides effortlessly onto your skin, leaving no white residue and providing a silky-smooth finish. MCT oil is known for its moisturising properties, helping to lock in hydration and nourish your skin, leaving it feeling soft and supple.

Properties/benefits: Zinc Oxide has many skincare uses including as a very effective broad-spectrum sun filter, having some anti-bacterial properties and the ability to help soothe and protect irritated skin. However, it can be very difficult to formulate with as it tends to clump together making creams thick and lumpy and leaving the skin looking white and feeling chalky.

Our pre-dispersed Zinc suspension helps keep the zinc particles from agglomerating, making formulating Zinc products a little easier.

Appearance: White to off-white oily paste

Material Origin: Derived from plant and mineral origin - Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride derived from Coconut through distillation and Polyhydroxystearic Acid derived from Castor Oil through Saponification, Acidification, Distillation, and Esterification

Recommended Usage: Up to 30% as supplied

Solubility: This ingredient is dispersible rather than soluble and is best added to the oil phase. In most cases, to prevent sedimentation, the formula should contain a structuring agent or be in the form of an emulsion or balm.

Specs: Zinc oxide content from 66% to 70%.

Recommended PH: It is best in formulations with a pH of 7 or more.

Formulation Tips:

  • Add to the oil phase
  • Incompatible with anionics and carbomer

Suitable for: Skincare and Make Up, Baby Products and Hair Care products.

Note: Using at concentrations over 0.36% may be subject to labelling requirements, see SDS for details – The sun is a known carcinogen and as such, here in Australia, primary sun protection products are regulated under the TGA.
